Herbal Remedies

We at Purely believe that Nature provides us with countless ways to boost our health and support our immune system.

Vinegar may be our favorite home remedy but we are also big fans of fresh herbs!

This week we want to share  some easy recipes with you to make your drinks even healthier.

The best thing is: You'll probably be able to find all ingredients in your fridge!

1. Rosemary

Rosemary is one of the herbs that most people are familiar with - its used in countless dishes and particularly useful when prepping mediterranean inspired foods. It looks similar to a tiny evergreen branch and has an aromatic, slightly bitter taste. Even more important: Rosemary has countless health benefits!

The herb is though to boost memory, stimulate circulation, reduce inflammation, and support the immune system. Rosemary goes very well with citrus flavors, which is why we like to combine it with our Q Soo Grapefruit Citrus Tonic or our Purely Grapefruit Citrus Concentrate. By infusing your drink with Rosemary, you will enjoy all the benefits of the herb while also taking in your Prebiotics & Probiotics.

2. Cilantro

Cilantro is another major kitchen staple. It is a must have ingredient in many Mexican dishes as well as Central and South American foods, Creole dishes, and many Asian cuisines. Since the plant is native to North Africa, Europe, and parts of Asia, it has a long tradition in kitchens around the globe.

Cilantro, or Coriander as it may be called, has quite a few health benefits too! Cilantro includes many antioxidants that can help support immune health. The herb can lower cholesterol and support the cardiovascular system!

Cilantro, every guacamole lover knows, goes well with lime. That's why we love to add the herb to our Q Soo Ginger Lime Tonic or to delicious salad dressings that include Purely Ginger Lime.

3. Mint

Spearmint and Peppermint are frequently used to derive essential oils, make teas, or other medicines that can aid with indigestion, nausea, or stomach aches. The word Mint refers to family of perennials that includes many different types of Mints, such as Spearmint or Peppermint. Mint is as versatile as the plant family is big - the different types have different flavors and are used very differently. They do have a thing in common though: Mint has amazing health benefits and tastes delicious.

Spearmint makes a delicious addition to our Strawberry Lemonade Q Soo Tonic. The herb adds some depth and makes the Tonic even more refreshing!

Peppermint is a bold addition to a Cocktail or Mocktail. Try using any of our Purely Flavors for a festive holiday drink!
