Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month is a celebration of Asians and Pacific Islanders in America. We spend extra time in May to honor Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month by highlighting AAPI experiences and filmmakers.
We, at Purely, support Asian-American and Pacific Islander communities, as well as the artists, staff members, and colleagues who are a part of them. We stand in solidarity with those who have suffered and mourned as a result of the recent uptick in harassment and violence.
We've put together a list of some of the groups and organizations that are leading the charge in raising awareness and providing assistance to others.
This website includes educational resources concerning anti-asian racism, as well as options for AAPI community members and allies to report instances, get mental health help, and take action.
To combat xenophobia resulting from COVID-19, the Asian Pacific Planning and Policy Council, the Chinese for Affirmative Action, and the Asian American Studies Department of San Francisco State University launched this site in 2020. It tracks and responds to incidents of hate, violence, harassment, discrimination, shunning, and child bullying against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States.
The objective of Asian Americans Advancing Justice is to enhance Asian Americans' civil and human rights, as well as to establish and promote a fair and equitable society for all.
Sunshine Behavior Health describes the mental health challenges that Asian Americans endure as a result of cultural standards, as well as phone numbers for support hotlines and mental health organizations.
