5 Hacks For Better Sleep

Nowadays, people do not always embrace the necessity for adequate sleep. Yet, it is important that people make an effort to get enough sleep regularly. Sleep is just as important as nutrition and exercise when it comes to improving your health, performance, and body composition. Good sleep helps our bodies and minds recover, keeping us lean, happy, mentally focused, and healthy.

1. Keep Bedroom Cool

A room that's too hot and a room that's too cold can both mess with your sleep. Aim for somewhere between 60-67 degrees Fahrenheit, but if it is too cold for you; you can wear your favorite socks to make you comfortable. Find what works best for you and do your best to regulate your bedroom to that temperature each night.

2. Eat 3 Hours Before Bed

Your body isn't meant to be digesting while you sleep, so a big meal too close to bedtime may keep you up at night. It is recommended to eat “of at least 800mg cholesterol (4 or more large whole eggs) and 40 grams of protein” within 3 hours of bedtime.

3. Eye Mask For Better Sleep

Exposure to artificial light suppresses melatonin, the sleep-inducing hormone, which can lead to sleeping issues or disorders such as insomnia. Eye masks or sleep masks work by blocking out artificial light. This helps to promote healthy sleep patterns and hormone balance.

4. Honey + Apple Cider Vinegar

The mixture is generally diluted in warm water and drunk before bedtime or upon rising. It's claimed to aid weight loss and improve seasonal allergies and blood pressure. 5. Bedtime Routine

The first step to getting more and better sleep is to create a nighttime routine that tells your body that you are preparing to go to sleep. Our bodies like regularity. Try to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day and night. If you’re consistent, your body will know when to release calming hormones before bed, and stimulating hormones to help you wake up.
